Residents Reminded to Call 911

Residents are reminded that ALL calls to police must go through 911. This includes all calls regardless of whether or not the issue is a true emergency. Although we understand callers can be initially uncomfortable with calling 911 for what they feel is a non-emergency, the 911 system in Butler County tracks all calls and dispatches the necessary law enforcement or emergency personnel through 911. The Cranberry Police have requested that residents refrain from contacting the Police Department's general telephone number with any issues requesting a police response. These calls can go unanswered especially in the evening and/or on weekends and consistently calling 911 will ensure proper response time and follow-up. Cranberry Township Director of Public Safety explains, "We've got to let people know that they have to call 911 for any police services, that is how we're dispatched." We thank you for your cooperation.

Important Information Regarding Your Drinking Water

West View Water will start using chloramine disinfection at the end of April. Chloramines have been used safely in the US and Canada for eight years. Most customers will not notice a difference in their water supply. Here are a couple of facts you should note:

  • Chloraminated water is safe for bathing, drinking, cooking and all normal uses.

  • Chloramines must be removed from water prior to dialysis treatment and from water used in aquariums, fish ponds and terrariums.

  • Patients using home dialysis treatment should check with their equipment providers to obtain the proper equipment to remove chloramines.

  • Chloramine neutralizers can be purchased at pet stores for use in aquariums, fish ponds and terrariums.

  • For more information please contact West View Water at 412-931-3292 or visit their website at http://www.westviewwater.org.
